you are right....pittsburgh - a jazz capital. The short list of clubs in the city would be C.J.'s on Penn Avenue in the Strip (sun. & thurs.), AVA on Highland in East Liberty (mon.), and if you want to drive approx. 1/2 hr out of town, there are more, including The Rythym House in bridgeville, (sun.)

Cecil Payne - Awesome Baritone Saxophonist Tribute

This is a tribute to Mr. Cecil Payne, born in Brooklyn, New York 1922. This man was an awesome baritone jazz saxophonist who was known mainly by some of the legends of jazz who knew him as one of the best modern jazz and bepop baritone saxophonist on the planet. We salute him and his works. Cecil never had a band of his own that I know of. If anyone knows different please less us jazz lovers know. For those of you who are aware of this Jazz Legend, he worked for and with Roy Eldridge, Count B
