Joan Velez is an artist with a passion for jazz and latin music, he has a unique, big, sensual, and very percussive signature sound, his music is a new refreshing Experience. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Velez began playing drums at age 11 before migrating to Tenor Saxophone one year later. While a student at the prestigious La Escuela Libre de Música in Arecibo, he also took up Soprano and Alto Saxophones as well as Flute. LATE RENT Theme Mikell's JON HAMMOND Late Rent Session Men
Jon Hammond Theme Song played by The original Late Rent Session Men, Bernard Purdie drums, Barry Finnerty guitar, Chuggy Carter perc., Jon Hammond at his 1959 B3 Organ in a 1989 performance August 18th at Mikell's, Columbus at 97th St. NYC. You will never hear Bernard Purdie playing like this on any records, absolutely smokin' for a house full of musicians and the musicians' traditional hang. Original composition by Hammond and Finnerty, Chuggy Carter tears it up with Bernard, enjoy folks! ©2007 JON HAMMOND Intl., Inc. http://www.HammondCast.com
