Hi Michael,

Once again I am blown away by your generous comments....I really dont know what to say. You are very kind :)

I'm so glad you are enjoying the album. I would love for you to write a review for my website. That would be fantastic! I am just in the process of creating the website and would love to quote you (thats if its ok with you). Just let me know.
At this stage there are no physical CD's as I too have run out of funds. I will keep you posted when I have some to sell. Thats why itunes is so good for me at the moment. I just wish I knew how to get my name 'out there'....any ideas?

Thanks again Michael, hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi Michael,

Thankyou so much for your eloquent comments. I really appreciate it :) "Let's Face the Music & Dance" was written by Irving Berlin, its a wonderful song isn't it?

As for my album.....I'm still in the process of it all happening and I'm financing it myself......so unfortunately its not happening as quickly as I would like....but it is happening! I will keep you posted on its progress if you like.

I really enjoy your music, you're a very gifted composer!

Lovely to meet you Michael, have a great weekend.

Profile Information

Hometown:
Daytona Beach, FL (originally, New York City, NY)
About Me:
Jazz pianist & composer, have played and composed for about 30 years. Lover of jazz artists from the classics to contemporary. Duke Ellington is still my favoirte A.A. composer, pianist. Also writer, author. One novel: "The Last Renaissance Man" and a songbook of lyrics: "Across the SEA of MadNesS."
Right now in March 2008 my debut eclectic classical/jazz/new age piano solo debut CD: "August Ocean Overture" is on its way to 2 internet outlets: Amazon via CreateSpace.com and CDbaby. From there I will signing on to as many artists sites as possible. ALL THE MUSIC ON THIS CD IS ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS. That's my feature composer in all forms and pianist of those compositions. I write in orchestral music, piano, and of course songs in which I am only forced to do the vocal work as there is no one else at the moment to sing them. I do not confine myself to Pop jazz or pop music but consider my music popular when done well.
Contemporary influences range from the great progressive players of the sixties: Keith Jarret, Chick Corea, McCoy Tyner to those of my generation: Lyle Mays, Pat Metheny, George Winston. I however having started much later than those of my age (not playing until 17) consider having hung in there until this age of 53 to play this risky mix of styles a major overcoming of willful determination and all this with only a brief and unfunded stint in any music school. My abilities have been honed purely on self disciplined study and doing - not the thing that makes for great "session musicians" but it is the thing that makes great original conceptions.
Check out my CD soon on the web in March and see all the individual downloadable tracks on my CTI profile page and at my web StoreFront at JzCDz.com (Lulu based for now). New composers need the support of other great musicians and JAZZ Lovers in a world where much popular music is missing the "M" in music!!

Who is your favorite jazz artist
I guess its Duke E. (of the classics)but pianist/composer Lyle Mays and guitarist Pat Metheny are first with my generation but that's leaving out a few
Favorite Type of Jazz Music:
As long as it swings in some way, whether rhythm melody or feeling - up tempo or down, the swing is in the soul/voice/instrument of the player. To play IS to compose!
Favorite Jazz Club:
It used to be in the Apple back when I lived there in the '80s - I think it was the Vanguard but other small spots. Sadly there are no clubs where I live now except my little studio where I play! (when I play).

New solo piano track added recorded 4/18/2008

Hi to what I hope will on be a growing list of new Jazz Friends. I have added a new solo piano track recorded "live to 2 tracks" on the weekend of April 18-20 when I recorded some new material soon to be featured.
The name is: "LEFT HAND'S A BASS, RIGHT HAND IS BLUE" . The title would not read across the player box so I'm posting it here for those curious of the name. It is a simple but harmonically varied (some unusual chord changes) Blues in which as the title says, my left hand plays a bass p… Continue

You can get it fastest on CreateSpace but even if you have only heard mp3 tracks or tracks on these blog pages feel free to surf to Amazon and leave a music review - I could used the attention.
It would be GREAT if you get a copy and gave me a full review but I'll take what attention I can get.
